Kid in the Red Jacket by Barbara Park really touched me. It made me think twice before I do something to someone because Howard was throwing Madeline to Ollie and back and he didn’t even think once about it that is a mean thing to do to a 6 year old. It makes me think about what is going on in that person’s life and how they are reacting to it because Howard was treating Molly badly even though her parents divorced she wasn’t dealing with it that good . I’ve learned that even the littlest of kindness can brighten up somebody’s day and I have the power to make somebody’s day or life better because Molly was way more happier when Howard actually started being nice to her. Every friend was somebody new to you. Being new is hard but sometimes all you have to do is just be KIND because nobody wants to have a mean friend because Howard and Ollie were throwing Madeline so Molly didn’t hang out anymore. Being friends can make the world a better place. I thank this book for teaching me this.
